Who here knew that the President of the International Olympic Committe is an Auburn alum?

I was watching some clips of the Swimming World Championships on Youtube and one of them (Katie Ledecky winning the 1500M Free) Rowdy Gaines says at the 6:08 mark "there's Kirsty Coventry, the new IOC President". (LINK)

And I'll be darned, she really is (LINK). Good for her!

Most Auburn people don't realize what a legend Kirsty is. We are very fortunate to have had her at Auburn.

David Marsh had the most dominant run of any sport in Auburn history.

Wrongo, Corch!! The most amazing record for coaching record at Auburn belongs to Swede Umbach. As the Wrestling coach at Auburn, he won 25 of 26 SEC championships. in his 28 years at the helm.

His record: 248 wins out of 276 matches. 90% win rate.

Marsh was great and wish we had kept him for a longer period of time. And his National championships is a remarkable record. But IMHO the Swede holds the most dominant career at AU.

Sounds good. Didn’t even know we had a wrestling team. Club level or what?

Auburn had a Wrestling team until the mid to late 70's. It was sacrificed to Title IX dictums. AU had 1 National Champ in Heavyweight.

Today it is a club level.
