I always liked Bielema at Wisconsin and he's taken Illinois to a level where they are knocking on the door to elite status. But, why couldn't Arkansas support him b/c he was going against Saban and Les Miles in the same division? And, then you fire him for a career position coach?

His drinking while here did him in. Him leaving probably saved his life.

He's honestly lucky to be alive.

He was eating/drinking himself to death in Fayetteville.

No, I didn't make up shite. Bielema has Illinois in a position where they are thought of to make a jump to the playoff this upcoming season. That's no bullshite. Bielema is getting more out of his recruits and transfers than just about anyone in the country.

Chad Morris wasn't a career position coach, he was HC at SMU

Morris was so bad I forgot about him being the head coach at Arky before Pittman.

They tried but he like pizza, beer, and Las Vegas more than he liked recruiting.

I think a program like Arkansas moved too quickly to fire Bielema. It's obvious Bielema is a quality coach and some of these coaches y'all like to holler are elite are just decent to good coaches in elite jobs. Bielema is a very good coach who has built Illinois into something that is better and more consistent than Ron Zook put together there.

Put Bielema into contact with Dr. Now or some other fat doctor but they could've worked with him especially in light of they will almost certainly fire Pittman.

No. I think Bielema should not have left Wisconsin. He is a very capable coach.

Arky won't attract big name recruits and it's going to be even harder with Texas Tech and SMU tooling up as programs. Arky just can't challenge Texas or A&M in recruiting in the near future. Rather, Arky needs a head coach who understands talent evaluation and I think that's something that Bielema has proven he can do at Wisconsin and Illinois.

If I remember correctly he and his staff weren't getting the financial support. But, Wisconsin gives the financial support to Luke Fickell who has bombed so far in that job. I don't think Wisconsin was breaking the bank on Paul Chryst either.

Let's go back 5 years before Bret was fired and ask if Petrino should have been fired. The answer is "no". And to be fired by a guy (Jeff Long) who hired a guy (Les Miles) who was waaayyy worse than Petrino in effing around with coeds.

He is indeed a very capable coach. His problem was alcohol and gambling. Everyone was wondering why we refused Norvell because of his gambling, but never considered that the previous dickhead actually shirked off recruiting responsibilities to go gamble in Vegas, while getting shite housed. Remember his tendency to spout off on Twitter? The head coaching equivalent of drunk texting. For real. Wisconsin fans told us all about it, but we only saw 3 consecutive Big Ten title games.

Honestly, yes. His drinking got so bad that he was running off his best coaches. He couldn't keep anyone longer than a year. He was a cultural disaster. He gave us our first winless conference record in school history.

It is weird how you get along great with Shaft Williams. Like you guys used to bunk together at camp.

But you don’t get along with any other Alabama fans. Not at all. You mix like oil and water. Except Shaft. You guys have cordial conversations like two old friends.

Strange.

Imo the only thing worse than a shitty coach is a morbidly obese shitty coach.

Every fanbase in this conference would’ve loved to run his fatass out of town given the opportunity
