Revenue sharing?

Greg Byrne said 85% to FB and basketball. When you break it down to 100 scholarship players on both sports then the 20.5 Million is going to be spread out per year, correct? So, the revenue sharing does not have anything to do with NIL collectives like Yea Alabama. So, stud QB could make a good sum of money which could put him being paid higher than his OC or DC.
Are incoming players going to be paid something from the revenue sharing when they have not done anything yet to contribute to that sum? Will this be handed out at the end of the school year based on what each player brought to the table? What happens if stud QB gets hurt in the first game? Is he going to be penalized for what was promised to him? Mr Boz we need your input soon.

Some schools, Georgia and Ohio State, are already shutting down their collectives and partnering with Learfield to facilitate NIL deals and revenue sharing.
I wouldn't be surprised to see us do something similar.

So we tell the new recruits and the current ones to go to Leerfield to find out how much they can make? Would it be similar at all schools should a kid be shopping.

When do we stop sharing revenue with the rest of the conference or at least move to an uneven revenue distribution plan so the bottom feeders can stop sucking our tits?

I honestly don't know. I just saw a couple articles stating those schools would be shutting down their collectives to work with Learfield.
I will say it appears our staff are recruiting guys who aren't mostly NIL driven.
We've bowed out of a few recruitments (Tristan Keys) because the money was way too much for our liking.

Didnt NS say he was not a fan of telling new recruits how much they could make since they have not proven shite?

Welp. That didn't take long.

Looks like there might not be anything happening on 1 August then.

NFL draft picks haven’t proven anything either. There are first round busts just like there are five star busts.
Like it or not, coaches have to play the game. You can’t tell top recruits to go kick rocks - or else those five stars might go elsewhere and prove their worth all over your arse one day.

NFL players have proven in college what they are made of. Yes there are busts but a stud in HS has proven shite compared to playing with other college players. You are comparing an apple to an orange. A 5star at a small high school is not the same as looking at a 5 star who played at a much larger high school.

Historic recruiting rankings and championships wouldn’t be so closely aligned if high school players hadn’t “proven shite” regarding their ability.

They have proven it at the HS level and how many Bama studs who are high 4's and 5's fail. Plenty. The NFL seldom makes a mistake on first round guys. There are some exceptions but my point was NS was not given out big bucks to HS kids who have not proven anything at the college level.

How many people fail in any position and are fired or move on? In fact, is there any better example of this than college coaching? Jimbo Fisher won a national title at FSU and was fired at A&M, running off with tens of millions.
Wasn’t he “proven”? I don’t think A&M got their money’s worth.

You bet.
According to some quick research, 60% of 5 star players are drafted (20% in the first round), 20% of 4 stars, and only 5% of 3 stars.
College recruiting is hardly just a crapshoot. The teams with the highest rated classes are the ones that consistently win.

I don’t know much about Saban’s NIL tactics, especially since he didn’t coach long in the era. But if the opposition is handing out millions to 5 star recruits while you only preach development and tell them they haven’t earned shite, you’re going to lose.
The fans don’t like it but that’s the way it is. The players have leverage because they are the ones who win the games.

Exactly. Spend half and hour comparing recruiting rankings and drafted players and you will see that there is a high correlation between stars and the draft.
