It’s clear you have to have the funds, the talent, the coaching, the competitive will to want to win to live up to the SEC standard. Basketball, Football, Baseball are the three biggest examples.

Oklahoma has a lot to improve on in each, especially while competing in the SEC. Sure, the Sooners will pick up some wins here and there against fellow SEC members but the ultimate test is to perform well, deep into the postseason.

It has been said for years that Oklahoma has feasted on a weaker conference with a few decent teams depending on the sport and the year. Oklahoma has maintained its relevance because of the winning despite being in the Big 8/12. In the SEC, it is a constant year-after-year success in the big sports and OU has to get on board or will get left behind.

In conclusion, the SEC has established itself as the premier athletics conference across the country and Oklahoma is in a position to want to join that winning culture, not just by being a member, but being an equal, consistent competitor.

You mean a couple of loser posters that don't represent what most of the fan base thinks.

In football, this conference will traditionally eat their own and then devour others, but our basketball programs just started developing relevance a few years ago. Overnight, we got better than everyone else. I'm sure the SEC put a lot more money where their mouth was and hired better coaches, and with NIL, they have suddenly soared to new heights. The number of teams we put into the Big Dance was unheard of around here. But I doubt your athletic programs lag that far from being all that.

As an LSU fan, I’ve got to admit that Oklahoma has gotten shafted regarding the first two years of football scheduling, as well as as baseball scheduling. Much more difficult than Texas for sure.
