Posted this as a response in another thread but I felt this thought needed to be said independently.
The game, the season itself, boiled down to this for me:
I just enjoyed watching Elliott close. That was a special moment, and I am glad to have witnessed it. He's a special player. The last one left from the National Championship team in 2022. He pitched an amazing game in the CWS finals. He pitched like it was a chess game. He was a freshman. He got injured in 2022 and sat out the season. He was ready to go again in 2023 and then got a season ending injury before the season started. This was the year he finally got to show his stuff. So, seeing him get that final frame was just special. I'm going to miss watching him.
As for the regional... We came back and we were in the final from being in the losers bracket. Honestly, we made the postseason for the first time since 2022. We were even runner up in the SEC tournament too so I'm happy with the season overall. I'm proud of the guys. We were picked to finish 15th in the SEC.
So WAOM on us all you want but it was a nice year.

And I was hoping you could at least stay alive to face UTSA.
I expected too much.

I'm glad you see the positives. I agree. Even though I gave OM a hard time in the other thread, it was a good season for y'all - hosting a regional and making a run in the SECT.
Hope y'all stay competitive. It's fun when OM and State are both good in baseball at the same time.

Yes, and in baseball, I am an Ole Miss fan first but I am a Big 4 fan second.
Ole Miss
Arkansas
LSU
MSU
We just do baseball right. Everyone else is just second-rating it.
If there had to be 6, I would include SC and Florida but I have regional bias to our area.
So, I'll be rooting for Arkansas and LSU (if they make it).

Outside of Elliott, frick every single coach, player and staff member on the team. Losing to a poverty program like Murray State is inexcusable
