Am I correct here ? In 2025 football season all teams will be limited to a roster of 105. So teams can give 105 full rides or some partial scholarships but the roster can only be 105 ? I know the SEC says 85 scholarships . So does that mean SEC teams can have 85 scholarships and 20 walk ons?

So Bama and most of the other SEC teams have got to cut some Walk ons ? Also , at least for now we can sign 85 and teams outside the conference can hypothetically sign 105 guys to full scholarships.

I would expect that to be quickly addressed at the meetings next month in Sandestin. They will at least discuss it and schedule further meetings on it, but don’t expect the SEC to sit on their hands while the other leagues are pulling 105 scholarships.

They made the 85 limit decision knowing others would use the full 105... much like they made the decision to cap rosters in my sport at 22, knowing other conferences would use the full 30 from the House ruling. Terrible leadership decisions by the conference.

Maybe this is a wise move, though I don’t see how, but I wouldn’t trust Sankey to run an 8 y/o’s lemonade stand at the edge of the Sahara Desert.
