I immediately DOWNVOTED you as this is a PLAYERS game and BAMA has the GOAT. Also why do you have so many SPREADSHEETS?

Holy shite Portal Moser gonna cause some damage in the playoffs! After the year we had that would be something to see.

The fact you did coaches instead of schools is glaring. Cherry picking stats to fit an agenda is weak

Schools don't coach in March, coaches do. This post isn't about what schools have done the most it's about how coaches (who are coaching in this tournament) have performed relative to their results/seeding of the regular season.

Kentucky cares a lot more about how Mark Pope will coach in 4 days than they do about what Calipari did. In the same breath you are probably much more interested in Coach Cal's history in March than what Muss did 3 years ago as it applies to getting ready for Kansas.

Really, I think this stuff is mostly just statistical noise rather than proving that some coaches magically improve in March.

He certainly had 2 good back to back years at Loyola.

I think that anything outside of the extremes just shows that most coaches don't have a "thing" in March either way (along with bigger sample sizes). I do think certain coaches consistent struggles are definitely a trend line that isn't random - more so because of style or type of play than "choking" or something (Barnes, Bennett, Stansbury, etc). On the flip side, some guys are just good at things that translate in tournaments - Muss is a great example.

Golden, as an example, has coached in 2 tournaments. One at a mid-major. Would be silly to see that list and be like "well, he's not a good tournament coach". Same with Pope.

I really don’t expect to do anything. If we beat UConn I’ll take that as a good season after all the ups and downs. Of course I’d love to go on a run. But don’t expect it. PM is not good with close game end of game management. And usually have close games in this format.

But anyway, here is by school since 2000. Not really sure what magically pops out here that was being hidden, but here it is.

Interesting. Bruce would have passed Calipari in appearances if he didn't get in trouble.
