Why are the Hawks so consistently mediocre??

I used to be a big fan, watched all through the Iso Joe era, the 60 win magic year, and almost every game in Trae Young's first two years.
I applauded the the Capela trade, but it seems like no matter how many "promising" draft picks & free agents they sign, the end result is another crappy .500 season.
I haven't watched much this year, and I guess that I'm just salty after seeing tonight loss to a crappy Nets teams. But what would help this Hawks team get to 50 wins, yet alone contend for a title??

When is the last time the Hawks traded for or got a free agent top 20 player?
I think this is the answer to your question.
Joe Johnson in 2005 might be the best free agent signing in franchise history. That says a lot.

Other than Trae we haven't really stuck gold in the draft nor have we done that great in the FA market. We're not attractive enough to grab a superstar to go with Trae and in this day unless you have a LeBron you need more than one

I don’t really understand why the hawks are still in Atlanta.

Why? Every single Hawks game I have been to this year has been at or near capacity
So what the frick are you talking about them needed to leave Atlanta?

What happens if Trae leaves? Levert is 30 years old.

They still have Bufkin but if the Spurs draft Harper i would love to see them make a move for Castle.

Yea ROTY energy would be great. There’s a weird connection with him and SA though because I think his dad played with Tim Duncan.

This trade makes no sense. Honestly though Porzingas for pick 22, Mann, Diang and a swap of second rounder isn't bad. I think I would have still liked Sorber as a backup center.and at 22 hope either Richardson or Demin slips.

I don't know but it annoys me.
I also want the Thrashers back.

Champagne always confuses the frick out of my old brain. Are you a Saints fan living in Atlanta, I forget?!
I can never quite read his posts correctly and never know if it's a slow troll attempt OR if he genuinely does want say the thrashers back.
Anyhow, guess I'm just thinking aloud on this post but is it just me?!

I lived in the ATL for years and I like both of these teams.
I don't have to like ALL of the ATL sports teams.
I do want the Thrashers back in ATL but that's never going to happen. It's sad.
