Van Gorder's son, who has been our staff's quarterback whisperer since Buster Faulkner went to Tech, apparently is leaving.

Can't blame Carson Beck's regression on any one person, but any time a quarterback looks like Eric Zeir one season and then looks lost and loses his confidence the next season, something wasn't working.

With unlimited position coaches now being a thing, money shouldn't be an issue and Kirby can go out and find him a good on-field quarterback coach.

Kirby is a great coach, one of the best in SEC history. One of the marks of a great coach is identifying talent – players and coaches. Kirby hasn't batted a thousand with his assistant coaching hires, but he is damn good. I think he'll find us a good one!

He was big on the Jared Curtis recruitment.

Kirby definitely needs to find a QB guru to backfill this opening

Becks regression:
* Ladd and Bowers tearing it up the NFL Jack Saint gone.
* No run game
* Lambos and the P
*. He thought he was above reproach and couldn't get buy in from his teammates. When your mates are like, we liked Beck but this is Stockton's team in immediate fashion. They are politely saying they had seen enough of Beck.
* Trying to replace Will Ferrell as the painted tattoo man.

"Something wasn't working" is due to the fact that he was exposed after Bowers, Ladd, and others left.

Beck, Bowers and McConkey only played 5 games together at Georgia, and either Bowers or McConkey or Bowers or both were still gimpy when they played in the same game. What worries me is that Beck seemed to have way better rhythm and timing with players like Dillon Bell and Lovett and Delp in 2023 than he did in 2024.

I'm just a lowly hospice chaplain, so what do I know? But Beck, last season, ended up with 3500 yds passing, 28 TDs and led us to an SECC. He did have 12 ints, but 9 of those happened in 3 games; 3 against UF ( a win), 3 against Texas (a win) and 3 against Bama (the only loss of the three).

His OL was banged up all season and struggled all year which didn't help and we had the 2nd most drops by WRs than any team in the nation. I'd venture to say that he would have probably been close to 4000 yds again and alot higher TD count.

I'm always a half-full game, but I'm not sure he was as bad as some folks think he was. But that's just me.

Wonder if off-field or locker room issues played a part

He's so bad that he could only get a new job in the NFL.

NFL teams have just as many assistant assistant coaches as they do players.

32 NFL teams. 129 FCS teams.

If the NFL needs assistance to hire college assistants, there isn't a shortage.

This is what's not always understood. Becoming a position coach in the SEC is much harder than becoming an associate assistant coach to the position coach in the NFL.

Kirby may have asked Sirriani for a favor so Van Gorder could land on his feet. Who the frick really knows.
