Overspending is the only way BK can compete. He had to overpay for all of his new hires last year, including Bo Davis who just bolted for a job in the same state but at a major discount.
Let me restate that: Bo Davis just threw away hundreds of thousands of dollars, to remain in Louisiana, but to not have to coach for BK. Ouch.

Well, I googled NFL DC salaries and saw that most do not make 1.25 million, which is what he made at LSU. He, of course wasn't hired to be a DC, just DL.
You are right, I don't have the details, but I think it's safe to say he won't be making 1.25 million, doubtful it's a million. Who knows, he may have given up more than half a million to escape the grinder.
