Team to beat - Texas
I can't believe I'm saying that, but Sark has that program rolling. Recruiting is at an all-time high and they look pretty stout on both sides of the ball. It will be interesting to see how year 2 in the SEC unfolds for them.

Dark horse - South Carolina
Truthfully, I thought Beamer would have been fired by now, but I have to give him credit on doing a pretty good job. I don't see the Gamecocks winning the SEC, but I could see USC pulling off some big upsets. Last year, they also beat four ranked teams and should of beaten LSU, Alabama and Illinois. They lost those three games by a total of 9 points.

Biggest fall from grace - Alabama
I know this will surprise many, but the reality is Alabama has a second-year head coach that looks like a deer in the head lights and appears in way over his head, losing two conference games to two teams at the bottom of the SEC and getting manhandled by Michigan in its bowl game, despite being a 16.5 point favorite. Alabama will also have a new OC that was just fired from his last job, leading an offense that will start a QB will zero college starts. I think it's also very clear this team also lacks discipline and that's not good news for HC that could be fighting to keep his job! No, I'm not saying Alabama will finish last in the SEC, but I do feel like we will continue to see a decline in terms of wins and losses.

Agreed. They are the top dog until someone knocks them off..

Possible. It will be interesting to see how the new QB does this year. I still question whether the OL can hold up. Defense should always be pretty good under Venables, but the offense has to at least show some life.

I don't see it. I think we have a really good chance to make the playoffs in 2025. The biggest ? imo is the OL. I think Goosby filled in really nicely at LT against A&M, so I feel good about 2 of the spots. The other 3 spots will be manned by guys who have been in the system at least 2 years, and OL Coach Flood has done a great job, but it's different, so we shall see. Arch > Quinn imo.

Unless we magically have an O-Line, WR’s that can catch, and a QB UGA might be in for a long season.

They lost 4 games last year. Grace is in the rear view already. For them to get worse would be a fall from above average.

He's an LSU fan, so losing 3-4 games a year is Grace for him.

They definitely have the talent, but last season they really underperformed in several games against inferior teams and had to come from behind late to win several games.

Texas will reload. They have literally recruited elite enough to do so.

Texas was a big surprise last year because I thought the Longhorns would struggle in its first year in the SEC, but Sark may be building the next dominate SEC team.
