If Pearl doesn’t bbq in 2010…and he was still coaching there…what would 2011-present look like?

Would still have zero championship.

He doesn’t get a chance to throw Chuck Person under the bus after the FBI corruption sting where Auburn was found guilty of multiple federal charges and instead of getting a slap on the wrist, maybe Tennessee isn’t as good at hiding his cheating and he actually goes to jail?
quote:
Despite finding Auburn guilty of the highest-level violation—a Level I-aggravated designation for its part in the bribery scandal four years ago—the Committee on Infractions accepted the school’s 2021 postseason ban and applied no additional postseason sanctions. Despite having a head coach involved in his second major infractions case in his last two jobs, Pearl is suspended a mere two games. The charges (which were hidden by the school for nearly two years when it refused to release the Notice of Allegations) were serious; the punishment was not.
And then there’s Pearl: the dime dropper on violations by Illinois back in 1989; named in a violation when he was at Milwaukee in 2004 for inviting a prospect to his daughter’s graduation party; named in a violation at Tennessee for inviting a prospect to a backyard cookout in ’08 (and then lying about it); and now being the guy who hired wheeler-dealer Person and was shocked to find out what was going on.

If Pearl doesnt get fired at Tennessee then I believe we have at least 3 final fours from 2010-2025. There is a good chance he might've pulled out one national title. Pre 2018 SEC basketball was only one program so it would have been very viable for Pearl to have snuck up and won something during that 7 year stretch before SEC basketball changed forever.

LOL k. He got past the Sweet 16 one time at Tennessee and finished his last season losing an 8/9 game by 40.
But yeah, 3 final fours and a national title. Why not!

In 6 years he went to three sweet 16s and the programs first elite eight. Its not that crazy to think that given 15 more years he would've broken through for a few final 4s. He left UT with a .700 winning record and never missed the tournament. We had a bad showing in 2010 only because the team and everyone else knew he was getting fired lol. He built the Tennessee program from nothing and went to an elite 8 in no time. He def would have made a final four

He was at Tennessee for 6 years and this would be his 20th. As for his last game, the whole premise of this thread is that the circumstances around his final didn't exist. He's also obviously a better coach now then he was then.

Throw Chuck Person under the bus? Have you read what happened in that case?
It was literally a personal enrichment scheme for Chuck Person wherein the benefit came from luring players away from AU into the professional ranks.
Reading is difficult, I know. But maybe one day if you have time you could meet up with someone and they could talk you through it?

Hey man at least I don’t pretend to have moral authority after selling my soul for Bruce and Hugh . Perfect matches for the Auburn family.
