They raised TUF donation by $179 per seat.

Are you sure that was all TUF? And not the fact that UGA and Bama are 2025 home games?

Can you imagine the melt down if that were the case come November.

We ended up with Freeze. Not sure how Durkin is much of a step down from lowly Freeze

Yeah, I get that, I am just saying how bad the melt would be if we replaced Freeze with Durkin. It would be intense.

Ran into Hugh’s cousin- who said something to the affect of, “Hugh better get to winning fast or he’ll be out of a job faster than he can blink.” At least the extended family understands the situation.

Money well spent!

If this is an emergency plan if Freeze bombs, I'm on with it. At lead the D recruits may not bail.

I like the extension. The least of my worries is the defense, I'm worried if the QBs we brought in are going to meet expectations. If the offense can keep the defense off the field then we should be okay on defense.

Not a flame- but what gives you positive feelings if Durkin were a plan b? If he’s on the sidelines as HC in 2026—what about him make AU different? Honest question.

Durkin would not be a positive step forward but it could end up that way regardless.

We would probably get hit hard in the portal but the one thing that Durkin offers that Gus and Freeze could not is stability from his side of the ball.

Freeze and Gus have brought nothing but turmoil on O as offensive gurus.

Durkin would need to find a good offensive staff and make things happen for Auburn because fans want to see good offense, too.

Defense kept us in many games this past year. Thorne kept us out.

Ok- not a flame- and I know this is bringing up the past, but just curious about some honest discussion. In tracking the progression of Durkin from Maryland it seems the S&C coach was mainly at fault, but he was given a long leash by DJ.

Do players like him now? Player response was ultimately why he was fired at Maryland. Are the issues with the S&C coach from Maryland a distant memory? Again, thought his defense at AU under DJ was pretty good; except in certain 3rd down situations. He seems like a good coach- what of his baggage? Is that old news now?

100% hard to argue there. Defense was a bright spot most of the time.

I dont have any more details than you do about the Maryland scandal but the AP reports made Durkin out to be some thug that tried to break his players.

Reason why I say that is because I was reminded of those reports every time I saw Durkin smiling on the sideline and he has to smile on the sidelines more than any coach in my memory. I was not prepared for all the smiling. I was expecting Muschamp

Official report was that Maryland did not have a toxic culture but was responsible for the players death due to a slow response to player over heating.

What I read was the S&C coach was hard nosed about workouts, players gaining weight et cetera and that players felt it was toxic due to bullying/hazing/intimidation. They didn’t feel they could raise issues to DJ due to DJs close relationship with the S&C coach. When the board of regents didnt fire DJ the players revolted which ended up in his firing.
