For the first time in the history of the sport a Melungeon American will face off against an African American in a national championship game.

What will their different lived experiences bring to the field of play as we all watch the game?

How will the hardships, racism, exploitation, poverty, and misery both Day and Freeman have faced due to their race add to the complexity of the game?

Will this elevate both their respective communities as they reach the pinnacle of American college sports in the United States?

It would have been just as big a story if Sarkisian had prevailed, considering his Armenian American background. So many millions of disadvantaged and dispossessed Armenian Americans had their hopes and dreams of athletic supremacy and recognition riding on his broad shoulders.

Joe Mannix would have certainly been pulling for him if he were still with us. And the Kardashians have to be heavily disappointed that one of their brave and strong clan members didn't succeed.

This is actually a good post of sarcasm about marxist intersectionality.

Screw those racists at CNN running the "first black coach" narrative down our throats. I literally would not have know if they hadn't said it, nor would I have cared.

Can I get some help here making the call? I really don’t give a schitt who wins this game, but I want to be on the right side of the PVI (Perpetual Victim Index) here. Shouldn’t I be cheering for the most black head coach? I haven’t seen them side-by-side, so need some input.

Is there something other than tone - anything - that can differentiate the two for me on the PVI? Skin tone of wife? Or does either have a husband? Has one suffered and overcome some horrid past injustice? Morbid obesity, or drug abuse, or spousal abuse? Either turned down for a home loan? Anything?

Help a brother out.

Why isn't Freeman the first South Korean coach? He's technically Asian-American, but they never say that.

Both coaches have done a great job. Period.
Don’t need to know anymore than that. Period.

Tiger Woods is only 1/4 black, but those who make it a thing call him black.

All we’re needing now is a “woman of color” CFB coach, and everyone will be happy, happy, happy.

Anyone remember those pre-Saban days when bama fans would lament the scarcity of "blue-bloods" at the top of the BCS college football rankings? I can't tell you how many bammers would ask me "Isn't college football just more FUN when bama or Notre Dame or Penn State are good?"

Well... here we are.
