He is coming back as a walk on DB.

Which is what I’ve been saying for over 3 years needed to happen with a running back. If you aren’t a freak, you need to cross train as a wide receiver, linebacker or defensive back.

It’s financially better for them in the long run, if he gets picked up for any amount of time.

Running backs are a dime a dozen.

RBs are fairly common. Sure, get a great one if you can but in a pinch a lot of larger WRs can fill that role. One reason Army had a break out year this season was moving their deep threat WR Noah Short to slot back to give them a home run threat on pitches.

I am not, mind you, saying RBs are as useless as the teats on Tusk. A good RB behind a solid offensive line would solve a lot of our issues. The problem isn't finding a good RB though, it is getting enough good linemen, plus extra to cover for injuries.

This. Our bugaboo for years, overall quality and depth on the lines. That would help fix a lot of the other problems.
