Should we stick with Gunner for 2025?

For a QB who had never started a game, I thought he played pretty well against ND.
With experience, I think he'll only get better.

It's going to be Rashada.
Gunner and Pug will still hang around.
If either Gunner or Pug win the job, Rashada will probably transfer again.
Edit- Yes I see he has hit the portal since this post, and I acknowledge it later. Yall don't have to keep correcting me.

Curious how you arrived at this conclusion? I was surprised during the SECCG postgame that Kirby indicated Puglisi was the next up if Gunner couldn't go. I thought that meant the writing was on the wall that Rashada was gone-gone.

If so, do you know why didn't he play vs ND? And come in as #2 vs TX?

absolutely. He afforded himself well

All I will say about Gunner is shame on Bobo not getting him more time, even having a package for him in contested games.....
But it goes to say our offense was dysfunctional even in the rent a wins.

Would say there is more than meets the eye there for him to be 3rd on the updated depth chart something else is going on.

The only thing that meant was that all year Rashada was on scout because he was redshirting. He didn't get any reps with 1's or 2's which is a pre-requisite to be in the QB1/QB2 lineup.

Gunner has absolutely NO pocket presence, and it has cost us dearly. And while he's not afraid to run the ball, he's not that dangerous when he does. He doesn't seem to be able to make his own adjustment calls at the LOS, and he hasn't shown he can check down his receivers after the play begins (perhaps he's not had that much time). I love the guy, but thumbs down.

How exactly do you get pocket presence without playing in live games. We have a great D but after a while the back ups know what's coming. The ND fumble happened so fast, our LT got dogged and Stockton's internal clock told him he still had time.
Live reps is the only way. Not to mention, Beck got knocked out for the same thing

Beck’s was a little different as he was waiting on a Hail Mary but I do agree that Gunner’s internal rush clock can only improve with live reps.

An experience QB should have thrown the ball away and went to the locker room in Becks case

Beck had an excellent clock. His injury was on a play that required him to wait much longer than normal.
Gunner did not show he had developed one for the speed of playing top 20 defenses. He would not have gained this playing mop up against teams we were beating by 35 either.
Gunner has the smarts to be better at this facet. Those turnovers and loss of yards cost us a lot when he payed. All can be overcome with experience and study.

Our O-Line couldn’t establish consistency with the run game all year. 100th+ is not gonna cut it. If Beck or Stockton had a vintage UGA rushing attack, we’d be talking about something different today. We’ve gotta get the O-Line shored up and be able to run the ball.

Yes, if our Oline played well and our receivers caught the ball, Beck wins the Heisman and Bobo is a genius and we are favored in the playoffs.

Gunner is an accurate passer with a very slow delivery. Gunner is a willing runner who isn't fast or elusive. Gunner could be effective if the rest of the offensive players are elite. I'm not optimistic about the chance of championships next year.
