Why doesn't UA care about football?

Let's face it, since the famous motorcycle ride the U of A has punished the football program. To me it feels like self imposed sanctions. Those in charge are holding the football program back. My question is why?

To me it seems like the academic nerds picked people to not over shadow them and push olympic and women’s sports in HY and JL.
Which is dumb as shite since winning increases enrollment, which increases budgets for other departments.

Simple, fans keep renewing season tickets and showing up for the next shite show.

Why improve your product when people buying it every year?

I went to the Louisiana Tech game. It felt like one big social event and not a football game.

I'll speak up because I'm one of these
I was a season ticket holder from 05-16 donating between 3-5k per year. In 16 I went to 1 game, I was fed up before that season started.
In 22 I got back in. My oldest son was a senior in high school and was dead set on going to u of a and possibly playing in the band. We got 2 tickets so he and I could go and he could get a feel for game day as a prospective student.
He got offered a pretty good size scholarship to come to u of a between academics, music, and departmental so that's where he headed. Obviously the wife wants to see him every chance she can and wants to put on a good spread for his buddies. So we have 8 season tickets in the South end zone right next to the band and a couple tailgate spots in the gardens.
Needless to say that takes a good sized donation and of course the cost of the tickets. I don't do it because I enjoy the product on the field. I do it strictly because I can see my son living out his dream and being successful in doing so.
I also realize I'm part of the problem. It sucks but I'm proud of him and enjoy watching him and enjoy him bringing his friends by to visit on game days.
Now his younger brother is headed to the hill next fall so I'll be doing it even longer I guess.

There we go... Perfect answer.. Mine is more selfish.
It is a business expense that aids in some of my work. A huge write off at the end of the year... and even when down, you might just be surprised how much the bottom line is helped by giving a few tix to some potential clients.
I have club, and lower level tix... and 2 parking passes to each game. WPS!

I get both your reasons, and in the same boat, I’d do the same. But also you suck.
Kinda don’t think either of you cancelling would really change anything, would need hundreds to thousands in the same boat to do that.
I don’t even think you’d need to cancel your donations. Empty seats are pretty dang impressive. They can fudge the numbers on TV saying another sellout or 65K in attendance, but when it’s half empty we know the lies. And the concession stands and economy knows the truth.
It lets the administration know we still care, but a change is a must.

Arkansas tries to place nice in a dog eat dog, corrupt conference.
You get left behind if you don’t play that game and we haven’t been. No one else would have fired Petrino and no one else would be keeping Sam.
