Can anyone explain how revenue sharing will help us?

It’s not going to put a stop to what’s going on, it’ll just add on top so players will make even more money. Am I missing something here?

I said the exact same thing. Unless there’s a cap, it’s not going to level the playing field at all.

It might narrow the gap between us and some schools that have better NIL than we do, but we'll still be behind. It will help us win NIL battles against schools that have less revenue. The gap between the major conferences and everyone else will probably get bigger.

Anyone have a good source for how much revenue each conference brings in? I assume the SEC and B1G get the most and the ACC and Big 12 are behind

It will add about 10-20m depending on the school to NIL.

well sure but if there’s no salary cap it won’t matter because if we’re behind ole miss for example, we wil still be equally behind them because they’ll get the same amount of revenue share

Never mind the fact that this isn't additional money in the athletic department money, this is just taking money we already had in the budget and using it for athletes. So now all we've done is created a scenario where we have to cut spending in the departmental budget by 15-20M per year.

It's just like taking on a car payment without any increase in pay. You've got to find the money in your budget somewhere so you've got to cut something to be able to afford it.

I believe there is a cap on the revenue sharing part, there isn’t a cap on NIL.

So pretty much what it is now. But no one wants to sit behind a starter on Georgia when they can make that much and start here. That’s the difference. Parity in the sport is happening. And it was visible in the play offs.

Each SEC team is 20-22 million a year... Other conferences will not have that much available to use. Or so, I have been told.

It will lessen the severity of the % above us, but the big dogs will still be above us.

We’ll be able to afford extensions for Hunter and Sam. Continuing to destroy our program.
