PREFACE: I don't have an unfavorable opinion of Georgia's offense and, with the right personnel, I think it's still the kind of offense built to win championships. But I also think that wide receiver recruiting and negative recruiting will continue to be an issue in the future, even though Coley worked some serious magic this year...

Kirby has never had a wide receiver who finished in the top 10 in the SEC in yards per game or in the top 100 nationally. An Ole Miss receiver has done it 5 times in the last 3 seasons.

George Pickens flirted with it in 2019 and 2020 but still finished outside of the top 10. Right now, Arian Smith is 13th, and he could end up being the first and also could get into the top 100 nationally with a good CFP

If Arian Smith had even average hands, he might be one of our best WRs ever - which is crazy to think about. He clearly has the speed and intangibles (recovering the fumble at the end of the SECCG for example - heads up guy).

Had one of these late in the Kentucky game too, IIRC. Delp fumbled on a 3rd down and the announcers didn't really even notice it. Smith seemed like the only UGA player on the field to realize it and he dove on the ball to save the possession and maybe the game.

I said it on Sunday: Arian Smith excels at everything he does for Georgia Football... except catch passes.

I turned to my son at the game on Saturday when Smith dropped the first pass and told him, he will drop passes early in the game, but will make a clutch play late in the game that will win us the game...
