Future of non-conference rivalries

With the new playoffs, it’s clear more than ever that everyone (except ND) not in the SEC/big 10 are playing catchup to get in. How long then does it take for us to lose all non-conference rivalries?
UGA/GATech, Clemson/sc, Florida fsu/miami, etc. Oregon gave Boise more legitimacy and A&M vs ND was close to being deciding factor for A&M.
It seems to only make sense for sec/big10 to collude against the other conferences in ooc games to ensure minimal risk for playoff slots. They certainly could try to strong-arm ND as well by blocking them out of schedules. But then the risk of pushing them to the ACC/losing that market.

I think the in-confernece rivalries will go away with this new system. When it happens to your team, you will feel the same way.

what? losing 3 games and missing the playoffs?
yeah; that would not make me want to drop Auburn or Florida from the schedule every year

maybe beat Vandy or Oklahoma like you are supposed to & then you get in the playoffs - see how that works?
