What about a system where after 1st round teams are reseeded.
Or better yet my favorite idea. Committee announces 1-12,
1-4 draft the 1st round matchups
#1 picks #12
#2 picks #11
#3 picks #10
#4 picks #9
Then #1 picks #8 to play #12
I guarantee you the teams wouldn’t be taking in # order.
Oregon would take SMU/Boise state over Ohio St/Tenn any day of the week. Talent rankings of the rosters alone are comparable to Georgia vs TCU natty where Georgia had more 5 stars than TCU has 4 stars.

This will never happen but damn that's not a bad idea.

Would incentivize #1 overall seed.

a better idea is have the lowest seeded team to advance auto goes to the highest seed
better than letting teams select an opponent
better than letting teams select an opponent

no teams wouldn't go for that due to mental advantage of 'GETTING PICKED' as an insult

This shite is all so ridiculous I almost long for the pre-BCS days.
The two pairs of geographically closest schools in the SEC didn't play each other (State/Alabama, UGA/Carolina).
The University of California is playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Recruits being openly bought.
Hits that were just considered smash mouth football 10 years ago are not just penalties, but result in the player being DQed.
Players opting out.
The national championship game host city being bid on like the Super Bowl.
Half-time shows featuring Lil Whogivesafrick instead of the two schools' bands.
I'm glad Georgia is in it, but I don't like what CFB has become.

The way it is seeded now. Oregon and Georgia are getting penalized for winning their conference championship games. Where the losers Texas and Penn St. have the easiest path to the semifinals! How fair is that? It be interesting if the committee changes things next year.

Definitely would have a reason to never let up.
