Now that the season has finished I want to congratulate everyone on a wonderful inaugural season of an expanded SEC. The greatest conference in college football. I know we beat each other up during the season and we talk a ton of shite especially with rivalry week coming up (@Miss State you really thought we were gonna forget about you and not go in dry in the Egg Bowl?)

Let’s go Pavia Let’s go Hugh etc.

But now that the dust has settled.
We are all SEC.

And the SEC is about to go play teams from other conferences on the national stage. And I hope every SEC team beats the ever living frick out of every non-con team they play. I want to see Georgia beat Boise by 40 points. Texas beat Indiana by 30. Show the CFP committee that a 9-3 Carolina should never be left out over a 10-2 Clemson. Or 9-3 Ole Miss or Bama over a 10-2 SMU.

TLDR:

Would Boise, Iowa State, SMU or Indiana finish above .500 in the SEC with Georgia’s schedule?

Was that really necessary? I don't consider myself a homer but I will pull for SEC teams in post-season.

It's a sports board. I don't think any of this is necessary.

Texas is the only team in the SEC I want to succeed. I didn't want them in this circle jerk inbred conference, but not my decision.

I want SMU and Boise State and every Big12 team to skull frick any SEC team they play, regular season or otherwise and I will really enjoy it.

Will it happen regularly? Heck no, not as regularly as I'd like.

IF Ku had a conference to be proud about you’d understand.

One more game to go and Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Tennessee aren't a lock to win their last regular season games.

Yes it was necessary. We recruit against them as conference rivals so they can get fricked and lose every game henceforth.

Sports has become too much like politics. Pick a side and hate all others. People are mad at the world they themselves created.

Because it’s stupid. The OP is championing this mentality, but what has it ever done for Mississippi? Riding coattails of your annual conference opponents makes no sense.

This sounds like some complex coping mechanism from never winning it.

I openly admit we’re a perennial doormat from the big 8 to the big 12, but I don’t know anyone who ever took solace/excitement in Nebraska or Oklahoma winning it all.

You naysayers are way overthinking it. Too bad. Not everything is cynical.
