Assuming The polls now it’s Texas and Alabama assuming if Texas beats A&M if they don’t beat The Aggies then idk who gets in. But and this is just a thought , doesn’t it seem like with the 12 team playoff the SECCG is now a playoff elimination game and from now on? If it is Texas and Bama Bama I would assume Bama is out with 3 losses but if Bama beats texas would Texas be out?
Which one would you rather have out?

You would think that would happen based on us dropping out last year, but I'd bet Bama makes it in over a one loss Indiana or a similar team. Even with 3 losses.

Different standard for some teams and brands

Hahaa, obviously Alabama since we have a horrible track record vs Bama.

this helpful link was posted on the main board and answers all scenarios. Just pick which teams win each game and it spits out the tiebreak scenario winners: LINK

bama with 3 losses - out of the playoffs (IMO)
Texas with 2 losses- definitely in the playoffs.

But objectively I can't argue with this apparent bias since:
1. Teams like Alabama simply have better players than a team like Indiana based on recruiting rankings alone. And the playoffs were supposedly designed to select the best 12 teams.
2. The teams like Georgia have better players/are better teams than teams like Miami, TCU and Hawaii based on a pattern of blowouts in head to head match-ups. So yea, if we would have ended up with 3 losses, I would have no problem with Georgia being selected over a team like Indiana.

Give Mizz 2 losses in calculator and watch what happens…not that we want that.

Is calculator broken? I though Bama gets nod bc head to head before opponent winning %

According to the Nerdometer9000, Georgia will play in the SECCG if Alabama loses either of its next two games (at Oklahoma, vs. Auburn), regardless of how we do in our next 2 games obviously.

The dream scenario would be Texas A&M beats Texas and its Georgia vs. Texas A&M in the SECCG. Connor Weigman or Marcellus Reid ain't beating Georgia in the Georgia Dome!

But in that scenario, it’s not just us and Bama tied

I said the same thing in the SECr thread and no one answered.

Typically, you go down the tiebreakers until 1 team is eliminated, then start the tiebreakers again with the remaining teams until it’s decided.

Looking at the calculator, it appears it goes down the tiebreaker list until 1 team wins the tiebreaker. Not sure if that’s an error on his part or if that’s how the SEC is actually doing it

Think I see what you are saying. In the case of 4 6-2 teams, nobody fully wins w head to head so it goes down.

Would be hilarious and absurd if this the case and we somehow get in ahead of Bama and Ole Miss after losing to bother of them.

*not the we want in at all. Just paid for my home playoff tickets!!!

Beat Tech!! (And UMass)

Correct. It’s weird because I’ve never seen a tiebreaker rule of 3+ teams that determines the winner. Normally they go through the tiebreaker rules until at least 1 team is eliminated, then run the tiebreak rules over again with the remaining teams.

Absolutely would be absurd to have us in over Bama and Ole Miss because our opps win percentage is higher

Man, no way I want to see us vs Bama or Ole Miss in the SECCG. I know it's hard to beat a team twice but Bama is our kryptonite.
