Interesting. Based on their data, of all of the SEC teams, Texas' SOS is ranked below...all of them.

1- UGA
2- UF
3- Mississippi St
4- OU
5- LSU
6- UK
8- USC
11- Arkansas
13- Vandy
16- Bama
18- UTk
21- Missouri
25- A&M
29- Ole Miss
34- AU
38- Tejas

8 of the top 10 SOS are all in the SEC

Seems to me like the playoffs, in a sane world, should be the top team from each conference and the top G5 team get auto bids. I don't care if you win the conference championship game or not. That is irrelevant. The top ranked team from each of the 4 conferences, the top G5 team are auto bids. The other 7 teams are simply the next 7 in line. No conference gets an automatic first round bye. The top 4 teams get 1st round byes. If for some wonky reason the top three were from the SEC, for instance, due to scheduling weirdisms where... say... Ole Miss and Alabama don't play each other and say... Texas (so the posters don't say WHAT ABOUT TEXAS IN YOUR SCENARIO) are 1-3... then that right there is three of your first 4 byes. Or better yet... get rid of the silly conference championship games altogether, then there's no reason for a 1st round bye and go to 16 teams. That's actually probably a better idea, now that I think about it.

This year... as it stands right now... BYU and SMU are getting a first round byes, right? There are what... 6 teams in the SEC that would beat either of them by 3 touchdowns. Seems stupid for them to get a bye. Oh well.
