6-6/7-5 for the foreseeable future.
Remember Mike White?
This is the football version of it.

Similar performances though.
Also MW took over from Billy Donovan and inherited a solid program.
Napier inherited dog crap from Mullen.
MW and Napier both are below average coaches with similar tendencies.

Napier, lucky for him, deserves a break this week. But yeah, we already know who we have at the helm. He'll soon again prove to us why he's on the chopping blocks, but let's be happy for the players. Glad to see them enjoy themselves.
To your point, from what Napier has shown so far, the best he'll do with a stacked gator team is 8-4, maybe 9-3 if we are lucky. The losses will always be against Georgia, Texas, etc. because Napier won't be able to outclass any of those coaches. Those are games that usually come down to 1-2 drives or even plays, and we can't trust him to cook anything up against teams that are equally if not more talented.
As for purgatory, If our only other win is against FSU, but we look competent in the other losses, Napier will likely get another year. They'll say team is improving, we just had a tough stretch with a very young backfield.
We steal a game we shouldn't, beat FSU, then look good in a bowl game...That's when purgatory starts. I could see Napier using that as proof that his plan is working, not hire a true OC, then purgatory ensues.

The optimist in me hopes he's our Ed Orgeron.

Billy thinks he's God's gift to offensive play calling, just like Dan Mullen did. Difference is, Dan was actually somewhat competent at it.
Billy...not at all.
