I don’t think I’ve seen a staff put their team in a worst position to get out of the halves in a single game in my life. There are a dozen things I could point out but simply put: it is one thing to have a staff get beat tactically, it is another to see a staff get beat (or damn near) due to administrative mistakes.

It looks like fricking amateur hour out there.

These coaches are in over their heads.

During SC's last timeout, you have to be telling your offensive guys to get the first down, drain as many seconds as you can safely, then get your arse on the ground. We run out the clock easily then. But our coaching staff is too fricking stupid to grasp that. Yeah, they're in over their heads.

It's like we hired Mike Shula, but Mike Shula never would have made it to the title game no matter the team you gave him, so I don't know what to make of it.

The Mike Shula problem was he wasn’t creative enough to maximize a middle of the road roster in the SEC. He rarely made these administrative mistakes. He just tried playing by the number and either his players ran out of gas in the 2nd half or had to open up a conservative offense and got smoked.

DeBoer has a roster in the upper cut nationally and has them making so many discipline mistakes and showing poor game control that they look less talented than they are.

Looking at the rest of the schedule, we could seriously lose four more games if things keep going the way they are today.

I mean this in all seriousness: we haven’t seen coaching the bad since the Dubose era. At least not in my lifetime.

Want to start comparing DeBoer to Shula?

OK, here's a start...

1. Shula had Joe Kines as a DC for four years. Who did DeBoer hire?

2. As far as talent, after Saban's first season, how many of Shula's players were drafted? That would be zero. Compare that to the talent DeBoer has.

It's actually not an outrageous comparison to make.

The timeout and play call before the half was bad. I know it’s not popular to run a draw there like many teams and coaches have. But if you’re passing the football throw a screen or a DEEP shot to Williams. Don’t throw something across the field when your QB can’t seem to recognize zone coverage.

And yes, at the end of the game all you needed was a first down. I don’t know if that was communicated for sure but that sequence almost derailed the entire season.
