So the new model for college football is to pay players 10's

of thousands to hundreds of thousands and expect all of them to act with good common sense. Saban got out for a reason and the man does know whats going to happen to college football. Kirby has done things at Georgia under the old model that will be almost impossible to repeat, and he is a very smart man, fans better enjoy his success while he's still at Georgia.

With the fools acting the way they are - both players and fans (hell, the fans are bigger idiots) - I seriously doubt he will stay for the rest of his contract. And I wouldn't blame him one bit.

anyboyd with a lick of sense could have very easily predicted where the sport was headed the millisecond they allowed "NIL" to be a thing. Coming right on the heels of the transfer portal no less. It's a shame because there is essentially a dividing line in the history of the sport pre-2021ish and post. I'm just glad we got a copule natties before things went too far to hell.

Wrong. Smart uses the Transfer Portal and NIL probably better than any power team coach.

I would love to know if NIL or the unrestricted portal is considered a bigger mistake by guys like Kirby and Saban.
If I were a coach, the portal would piss me off to no end. Tough to build a deep team, much less great chemistry, when you spend so much time and effort recruiting only to see guys give up and leave.
Let’s be real…NIL has always existed, in a sense. The portal is what’s driving parity.
