It was 2008 and Ole miss was 2-2 and fresh off a loss to Vanderbilt. The Rebs had to go play the high flying Gators in Gainesville and no one gave them a chance to win. Florida was #1, if memory serves, however the rebels ended up winning that game. I lived in Memphis at the time and there were a lot of happy people around town. Ole miss was a disaster at that point in the year and it was quite a shock.

Of course after that game you had the famous Tebow speech about how that team was going to turn it around and they did of course. I haven’t quite seen anything like that from our team after the loss but I hope at least some people in the building are having talks like that. This team can come back from this but only if they take it to heart and really change their approach. Time will tell

That Ole Miss team won 9 games and finished as a top 15 team.

I want to believe..............................

But NIL, transfer portal and Saban on Gameday are holding me back.

Not even close to the same thing. Flordia lead that game, won top, more yards, 24 first downs to 10 for ole miss but turned the ball over 3 times leading to 21 points.

We were dominated by Vandy. Accept it and move on. Milroe isnt the leader Tebow was either.

If I’m being hopeful, it’s probably more like 2014 Ohio State’s home loss to a mediocre Va. Tech.

After that game Tebow rallied his team in private and public to not do that shite again. Instead we had a team captain crash out hard on the field, our coaches couldn’t rein him in somehow, and seems like everyone had a hot chocolate while discussing how it shouldn’t happen again.

our loss to SCAR on a super talented team in 2010 is the closest in Saban era

Even that SCAR team had first rounders not so much this Vandy

Tebow ain’t walking thru those doors. Our defensive captain threw a fit in the middle of the field. Lawson wouldn’t even deal with it. There is no leadership on that side of the ball.
