I continue to call this one “THE RED RIVER SHOOTOUT”. I always suspected Texans wanted it changed because the River is Red and the color is just proof that everything North of it is OUrs.
We both get a bye week. We have never played each other as SEC opponents. That doesn’t really change anything as far as Sooners and Texans are concerned.
63-14 is still one of the Top Ten Sooner wins I have ever attended.
Many of us have made the trek to Dallas. Share your opinion on this game or a good story and remember…

On paper, the Horns should win easily. But knowing how this game often plays out, it's a toss-up. OU's defense is tailor-made for their offense: no real QB run threat; hodge-podge run game. We will tee off on whichever QB they trot out.
In all their games, Texas has faced a statue of a QB with literally no run threat. They'll practice for Hawkins, but he'll hurt them for some chunk plays.
Ultimately OU's D wins or loses this game.

I don’t think it’s fair to put that on the defense when we still can’t convert a 3rd down and constantly go 3 and out. Defense will keep us in the game but you aren’t going to shut down their weapons for 4 quarters. Hopefully we’re healthy enough to move the ball and let Mike Hawk work with some confidence.

Just to be clear, I didn’t ask. I was asked to change it.
My 2nd choice was Coach Brent and had that been taken it was Will Rogers.
Will never met a Football Fan he didn’t like.
Some Oklahomans forget who they are. Some see no humor in anything, believe there is No God and complain every time someone has an opinion that disagrees with theirs.
I’m happy to be here. Chp Thril is a great guy. I don’t blame him for making a place for a few old curmudgeons to hangout. They don’t go to games anymore. Many have moved away. They can’t get along with annyone and take that attitude everywhere they go. You won’t get that from me.
The Bad XII is in the rearview mirror and I when I put my car/Truck or Harley in reverse The Bad XII better get the hell out of my way, especially if you’re wearing orange.

PS: Thanks to The Tiger who handled the curmudgeon. It’s much better dealing with Professionals who care about Sports. I have very little else to say on this other than I have been doing this since the Birth of the Internet and been going to OU Games since 1975. The Big 8, SWC were merged into the Big XII and The Bad XII was dominated by OU. The SEC offers OU a highly competitive Conference to play in. America knows the SEC is the place to be. Tuck Fexas ! ! !

I’m permanently banned from there. I bet you can guess who was behind it.
I was StoopTroup for years. When Bob left they trashed his 25 Years of filling Stadiums. I defended Bob for nearly everything except hiring his Brother. The last name came because Lincoln had fired Mike Stoops and then post game he said “All we need is a little Spark”. He needed a hell of a lot more than a little spark. Eventually Lincoln dismantled the OU Program and left in the night with as many money hungry idiots he could convince to go.
I’ve always been in Brent’s Corner and will continue to do so. He is a damn good Coach and knows he isn’t the interim Head Coach with everything handed to him on a Silver Platter. He’s who OU needed as they enter the SEC. Coach Brent seemed like a logical choice.

I agree on Brent. Imagine this defense with Baker/Kyler/Jalen, we have maybe 2-3 titles more. What he’s done to defense is amazing.
Offense, Lebby was a good first hire to allow BV to focus on D. And now BV hired Zac to run D and he calls all games and has done great.
So Lebby leaves and takes SEC HC job, mistake in my opinion but too much money to pass up. Appoints Seth as OC since he was analyst on team already. Its hard to decide if Seth is right fit due to Jackson flaming out and all the injuries. But I think he could have taken RPO away to simplify decision making for JA.
We will see over next month if that was a good hire. If not I expect Brent to make a move after season. Where LiaR waited too long to fire Mike, I feel Brent will take faster action if Seth doesn’t pan out. And its mot wins/losses that matter to me its how he calls games that I look at. So far its lackluster, but again hard to tell under circumstances.

I glanced at that board a few times and felt like I got AIDS by the ads and board functionality. What a shite program they use, how anyone could actually spend time there is beyond me. Count your blessings lol

I'm not sure how an OC adjusts to that number of injuries to start a season, it seems almost insurmountable. And I'll go ahead and admit that I wonder how many injuries are cured now that Hawkins is under center.

Like I said, they are proud of how lazy they have gotten.
The shame of it is lost on the TV watchers.
I enjoy going to games. I don’t live in Norman. We aren’t lazy people. I can’t tell you how many times I have just travelled to an OU away game without tickets and gotten into a game. I can’t remember ever ending up watching it at a Bar or Hotel.
If you want to attend an OU game there are always ways to make it happen.
I see the LSU Fan trying to get three. OU Texas has gotten difficult to get in but not impossible. I’ve bought a State Fair ticket and still found tickets inside. If you give up, you won’t get it. I’ve never sat outside the Cotton Bowl watching the game. Getting three together? Tougher.
