When does the national media fall off the Kelly train?

For whatever reason, Kelly is very highly regarded by the national media despite having a generally terrible résumé with a losing record vs Top 25 teams and no postseason wins of significance
Here is where he was placed in recent national coaching rankings done by various publications before the season
On3 - #2
247 - #3
SDS - #3
CBS Sports - #4
PFF - #5
Sporting News - #5
NYT - #6
ESPN - #11
Throughout his career, he’s basically been a poor man’s James Franklin, but somehow Kelly is considered to be the far better coach. It makes no sense.
When do the national pundits finally turn on Kelly like they did Franklin?

It’s because he coached at ND.

The Notre Dame mystique that the media put on any ND coach is already wearing off.
Would be interested to see who is above him in the ESPN rankings.

Doesn’t the idea of only worrying about your team defeat the purpose of this website?
