It is becoming more and more apparent that Prime simply isn’t ready to be a major college coach. I doubt he ever will be.
I will probably be getting a cease and desist letter from Colorado shortly.

I admire the heck out of coach Spurrier. I bet that "reporter" disappeared in short order.

quote:MoRon - as he was known for his too many seasons of antagonizing USC HC's and poor-mouthing everything Carolina - was reassigned to Op-Ed pieces and was not permitted to 'pen' about Gamecock athletics going forward - he was another in a tradition-rich line of personalities the likes of Herman Helms that The State fishwrap employed specifically for such tasks -

Spurrier also took down a beat writer in Gainesville who's sole purpose was to diminish anything UF football -
Spurrier never had any such verbage in his contracts that compares with what Deion has regarding media - HBC just decided one day he'd had enough of MoRon's pathetic agenda and put an end to it -

Spurrier and Deion have a lot in common. Both love the media and love talking to them, but don't like it when it's negative about them.
Coaches like Kirby, Saban, Parcells, Bill B. don't really want to do media stuff. They do it because they have to and in the college coaches case, do it because it helps with marketing themselves to recruits. Those guys couldn't care less what you say unless it's just a flat out lie like the guy the AJC had to fire. MoRon, as you call him, wasn't fired and it was never proven that he lied about anything.
The one SOS got in a beef with in Florida was a guy that said he was booed at some event, and Spurrier said he wasn't booed and he should apologize for printing that. The writer said he had a source that told him that, it wasn't even a big deal in his write-up and the reason the crowd booed had nothing to do with football at all but because Spurrier said a politician they didn't like was doing a good job. That's some major ego problems there. The writer checked with other people at the event who all said that he definitey had a good number in the crowd boo him.
He also got in a tussle with another writer because he gave Terry Bowden and his staff the coaching edge in a matchup between Auburn and Florida after Auburn had beaten Florida twice. Sounds like some really serious claims that would hurt SOS's rep.
