"One of the things that was interesting to me (at SEC Media Days) was the confidence that Tennessee came with," said Rutledge. "I think they're a team that could be one of these six or eight teams that we talk about potentially contending.

But Josh Heupel wasn't backing down at all. They're unproven at quarterback, but talented. I just think there's a lot there that we could be overlooking.

And he (Heupel) made me feel -- I was buying what he was selling. So I would say Tennessee probably stepped up a little bit in my eyes this week."

Heupel came across as extremely confident it seems. Nico and company really must be impressing him in camp because his demeanor was the opposite with Milton at QB this time last year.

Vols displayed the most confidence at SEC media days

Can you really be that overlooked if the biggest sports network in the world is saying they think you're going to be really good in the coming season?

Laugh all you want to but that won't save you in Neyland this season with your year one crybaby coach.

It's mainly regarding Ole Miss and Mizzou being the higher ranked dark horse teams as well as Texas imo.

What OP is actually saying.....

Look at me, look at me. I need attention.

Nobody gives Tennessee any attention.

Please look at me. I need attention.

Those ratings are so bad it's difficult to feel threatened as they will just auto adjust the rankings immediately as the season goes. Most incompetent rankings ever.

Why...we already have enough overrated teams to play.

The Big 12 was 3-1 versus the SEC last season.

Tennessee is like a West Virginia.

You are living in fantasy land. This Vols team would boat race Texas. You'll see when the season starts. 2022 was just a small preview followed by a rebuilding season. Texas aint shite. Most overrated team in the nation by far.

West Virginia??? We would hang 60 plus on those scrubs.

The fact that Texas fans think we are on the same level as a West Virginia as a program shows me they know absolutely nothing about the SEC.

Some of us actually have to play against real competition. Welcome to the real world now Texas and enjoy your annual 5-6 win seasons.

"We were good the year before last year" is a new one for me, I'll give you that.

You barely put up 30 on an FCS school Austin Peay last year.

Just scrubs playing scrubs.

Heupel is building a juggernaut and i can't believe none of you can see it. He inherited a TERRIBLE situation caused by Pruitt and almost had us in the playoffs in only his second season by using the transfer portal for some key pieces to fit his offense. This will be our first season with Heupel having some actual depth on our roster.

Anything short of 10 total regular season wins would be a massive letdown. UGA would be the only somewhat acceptable loss in my eyes. They are dar far from invincible though, especially after losing Bowers and Mchonkey.
