Georgia will not be going out to California to open the 2025 season, nor will UCLA be coming to Athens in 2026. Georgia announced that the future series against UCLA was canceled and that instead, Georgia will open the 2025 season against Marshall.

The game will be played in Athens on Aug. 30, 2025.

Pretty much was expected with UCLA moving to the Big Ten.

Inevitably, the Rant will claim we were being pussies and backed out because we don’t play true road games outside the Southeast.

I agree. Keep it all in state and let the backups play three quarters.

Georgia's played a tougher OOC schedule than most, maybe all, of them. The Dawgs have been accumulating little brothers at a rapid rate and they're all starting to sound like Tech fans.

Good.

Once the powers that be started losing their minds and expanding conferences left and right, playing gakes like this no longer make any sense. I honestly wouldn't have cared if we scrapped the clemson game this year either.

When you have a 12 game regular season that consists of some combination of bama, lsu, tennessee, texas, oklahoma, auburn, florida, etc...it simply makes zero rational logical sense to add yet another very difficult game onto it.
