The Cardinals will take on the Giants tonight at 6:15 at Rickwood Field, former home of the Birmingham Barons. The site now has gained more reverence with this week's passing of Birmingham native Willie Mays, perhaps the greatest all-around player ever in MLB. I saw him play in St. Louis, along with Willie McCovey and Juan Marichal, on the same Giants team. Saw 5 future HOFers play that day in Mays, McCovey, Marichal, Lou Brock and Orlando Cepeda. And if Bob Gibson had pitched that day, it would've been 6.

Triggered by a post about an MLB game being played in Birmingham for the first time? Okay, you be you.

I’d like to watch MLB but Bally’s sucks donkeys, so you’ll have to shoulder on without me.

I agree, but tonight's game is on Fox.
