It’s a culture built off self absorption rather that one built off of building your teammates. It’s a culture of believing you are the hero rather than trusting your teammates.

We tried the “pimp stick” culture. If that’s what you want Texas, go get it. It doesn’t work at A&M to win championships. I don’t think it will work at Tennessee either long term. Eventually you’ll get beat by a team with a superior culture.

Sounds perfect for you though Texas. Go get him.

He’s on year 7 bruh lol. He keeps on winning and shipping guys off to the pros only to reload yearly with monster recruiting classes. We’ve never had a player of his get into trouble off the field once under Tony V.

Also, pretty sure Kevin Sumlin never won 4 SEC championships in 6 years, but maybe I’m misremembering!

He’s. a better coach that Sumlin. And that goes a long way. My point is eventually the culture will get beat by one that’s not self absorbed.

Vitello has forgotten more about winning games than Rumlin has ever known.

OP, you sounds like an enormous pussy.

He has clearly shifted away from the style that made the 2022 team so hated. Tony V is a great coach and appears to be smart enough to change things that don’t work.

He’s going to win for a long time.

Vitello wins 72% of his games.
Sumlin won 60%.

Career stats. Not even the rant-proclaimed “we have moar money than all of you” school could save sumlin…..or Jimbo.

After that settles in:

“Well, we STILL have more money than you..”.

I love this place.

Baseball isn’t basketball or football dingleberry.

Guys you recruit to your team can either hit, make routine defensive plays, and locate/execute their pitches each on their own collectively better than the other team or not

Gotta appreciate the effort of resorting into bragging about money that doesn’t even belong to you whenever it is conveyed to you how moronically dumb your original point was

The acid test of which culture works best is about to be on full display. We shall see soon.

Dude, has Tony V even gotten his first DUI yet? He needs to stop being lazy and actually work on his alcoholism if he wants to have any hope of leveling up to Kevin Sumlin territory

Now that’s an excellent point. No one comes close to Sumlin in that department. We win hands down in the hire an alcoholic for a coach department.

You need to have the acid strips you just dropped onto your tongue tested or something, because you are not even coming close to making any type of a coherent statement or argument.

A Kevin Sumlin vs Tony V thread…wow!

Most random Tony V thread ever on the rant probably, and that’s saying a lot! Just never know what kind of brilliance the Rant will deliver

lol we had freaking Johnny Majors as a coach for 15 years once until he lost his job to Fulmer because he drank so much he had to miss a season recovering from open heart surgery.

Only difference being Johnny actually won multiple SEC championships unlike Sumlin.

Our alcoholic coaches are superior to yours!

And just to clarify this post is about the culture of their programs. Not about their coaching abilities.

Tony V is a far better coach than Sumlin ever was. That’s true. But neither team has the culture that will ever win a title.

That’s what Saban was great at. Building culture.

Culture is a thing. Culture eats talent for breakfast.
