1st time hearing this story about Kavares Tears being an 8th grader that Vitello thought highly of. Vitello has shown he can coach with the best of them, but he can also go out and find raw talent and develop it into a 1st round MLB pick.
Tony V is a great talent evaluator, even before they step on a high school field.

Who’s that? And why is he crying?

Kavares Tears dad. If you don’t know who Kavares Tears is by now, then you must not be watching the CWS. He and C-Mo are going to be 1st team All CWS team and Tears has been lighting it up right now and could end up MVP he keeps this pace up 8’ the CWS.

I’ve watched it all but I guess I don’t pay attention to names and it’s muted most of the time because I may have something else going on at the same time. Is he the one who hit for a cycle?

Great family. Great player. Probably a first round pick next year.

His raw talent is scary. He's really blossoming into an All-American-esque talent.
I have an old HS baseball teammate who is in the professional baseball scouting world that swore Kavares was the best pure hitting and outfield arm talent he's seen from Tennessee HS baseball so far.

I’ll have to check with my insurance agent and see if he ever played in 10rc, he would have been better…

Lol. This Tennessee baseball team wouldn't be threatening to win a basebally nattty this year without both of our two black stud starters (CMo and K. Tears)
Black people prob might wanna all consider getting into baseball again like they once did. Because when Blacks and their family (aka dad's) fully invest into the sport they often turn out to be fricking amazing at baseball. A Black baseball playing stud with a great family from a small rural area like Kavares that prioritizes baseball just isn't a profile you see much anymore.
Sadly many Black people don't have access to the sport because they live in an area where it's near impossible to play or they do not have someone like a dad/older brother to constantly throw them BP and support them thru the dog-eat-dog travel baseball world.

Except Tennessee HS baseball talent is nothing to laugh at. It's no FL, GA, TX or CA but it is a very strong baseball state on its own merit. Multiple MVPs, World Series MVPs, All stars, CY Youngs, ect have been ex Tennessee HS baseball players in the past decade alone.

He’s going to play baseball for a long time imo. I will enjoy seeing him carry the Vols banner professionally but will miss seeing that beautiful young black man play at UT

Good thing we have the number one class coming in, but yea hopefully he comes back next year. baseVOLS are about to have a lot of MLB representation. Already got a handful of ex-Tony guys already in the league like Beck, Lipscomb, ect

Yep and it pipeline will be valuable if/when lean years come again.
I haven’t kept up with recruiting so it’s good to hear Tone is wrangling talent - just hope some of them sign.
It’s becoming obvious that NCAA baseball is becoming a major feeder for the MLB - I think these kids see this and learn how to prepare, get nutrition, all that shite.
I think that was said about KT - he’s been able to develop but with all that raw talent he’s bound for greater things.

I think it's time for you to go back to the women's bball board. Baseball isn't for you.

I would think both KT and Dreiling are gone, but we may get a surprise.
