Agreed. Auburn should never claim 2004. Did we get screwed out of playing for a title… absolutely. But you can’t claim a trophy that’s not in the case.
And this applies to all the fake ones Bama, Ole Miss, etc try to claim. Doesn’t matter if it’s pre-BCS or not. If you claim a title from the 1920s that you didn’t start claiming until 1986, it’s fake as shite.

Auburn was the clear national champion who didnt have to cheat to earn success.
