Precedents, like overpaying your DC? BK's desperation to fix y'alls defense set this in motion. If I were an LSU fan I'd be curious as to why it's acceptable to overpay coaches, but not players.

A coaching pool of money and a player pool of money are not the same. No player is looking at the DC and complaining that they aren't getting paid the same amount. Hell the school pays the DC directly while the player has to get paid by outside sources. This is a dumb hill you are trying to die on.
