UCLA has the lowest acceptance rate, 8.4%, of any public university in America and has the highest number of applicants at 150,000. UC Berkeley is second with 144,000.

Although UCLA is harder to get into, a degree from Cal carries more weight, especially in STEM. Berkeley is also more difficult to graduate from than UCLA.

Both schools have pretty much the same criteria for graduation.

UCLA Is a branch-campus of Cal-Berkeley. However, UCLA has a slightly lower acceptance rate than Cal.

Cal offers more undergraduate programs than UCLA (150 to 125). Both schools are top-notch academically and both are very rigorous and difficult to graduate from.

The top 10 schools, in a general sense, are very close to each other academically and there is minute and little differences between them in most cases.
