The playoffs and even the BCS make it easier than the past. These days it's settled on the field, back then it was settle by opinions, records being the most important thing, etc.

Georgia would not have back to back titles in the days Spurrier coached, or even in the BCS years.

Maybe. Not many coaches went b2b in the BCS era and only 1 has done so in the playoff era. It’s still ridiculous to equate winning b2b titles with “winning a few more games a year”.
