1. There is a huge difference between a regular season game and a national title game (if you don’t think there is, you don’t know shite about the game).
2. Hurts had a history of struggles against good teams, but He was only benched once.
3. 3 points is close, but don’t act like 13 points is a big halftime lead (If you think it is, you don’t know shite about the game).
Hurts had a 26-2 record as a starter, and had like a 24-1 record going into that game. It's 10-7 at half time on the road. There is no reason at all to pull your starting QB, and if you think otherwise then I don't know what the frick to tell you. You're trying to win a ball game, not a trophy for most passing yards.
When Alabama played Georgia, at half time it was 13-0 and Hurts had thrown for 21 yards averaging 2.6 yards per pass.
That's the difference.

Exactly why it took so much for him to be benched. Coaches don’t like to bench qbs who win.

Agree, plus 13-0 at halftime isn’t a reason to pull your starting qb (in a regular season game), which brings us back to the relevance of the magnitude of the national title game.
Point is, saban doesn’t make that same call in a regular season game. Hurts sucked in both games. Bama needed better qb play in both games:
Bama was outscored 39-14 in those 6 hurts quarters.
