There is no luck involved

There is always luck involved once you lose. You need others to lose as bama saw AU do in 2017. It’s extra luck when you don’t make the conference title game, and still get in. Lots of “proven to be good” teams don’t get that lucky, and they miss the playoffs.

At least uga was forced to beat AU, while Bama just sat and rested up.

Getting lucky is when the ball bounces off a guys head and you catch it running wide open for an easy TD. And even then, some of that is created.

Teams lose for a reason most of the time. Same as when Alabama lost. Teams lose late season because most teams back load their difficult/rival games to the end of the season, not so that other teams can get "lucky" when they lose. That is literally just how college football works and was made the regular seasons exciting in the past.

It wasn't unlucky that Auburn missed the playoffs. It's just the result of a system that was never designed to figure out who should be in the playoffs etc. If it was a system designed to figure out which teams should go to the playoffs, Alabama would have played Georgia in the SECCG, Auburn would have had the bye. But then you couldn't call it the SECCG because it's not. It would be a wildcard playoff game and Auburn would have been the uncontested SEC Champion and automatically in the playoffs.

So again, be glad you got a mulligan with an injured Auburn RB and stop trying to gloss it over with Alabama no needing to prove itself further.
