The defense is struggling because this is not an ordinary spring game.

Bama's defense was pretty salty last year especially when it came to situational defense. They weren't on par with some of the better Saban defenses such as 2011 and 2016 but neither game Bama lost was because the opponent bent our defense over and made 'em like it.
