Why us Elko a bad hire?

The only other A&M coach who was the DC at A&M was R.C. Slocum

Nobody knows if either one is a bad hire. The only thing that is actually known is that your savior Cal has been a flat failure as a coach for the last five years. That is indisputable.

You have zero idea on Elko or Pope, because there isn't a history to draw from.
