The NCAA has no choice. The federal court said you can't restrict athlete movement if the athletes aren't employees.

The problem was the inconsistency and manner in which waivers were granted. If they hard and fast sit rule w/o exception then it’d be ok. But since they were arbitrarily picking and choosing and also inconsistent timeline on rulings the judge stepped in.

Still not sure why they can’t make rules regarding what an eligible player is and stick to them.

Sure they can’t limit how many times and where a student transfers, but they can make rule’s regarding eligibility and make them sit a year.

Just because they transfer as a student doesn’t mean they should automatically be able to play.
