This likely wouldn’t come close to putting you over the legal limit, unless you’re a small woman or a child.

0.02 per drink, on average, and your body metabolizes at a rate of one drink per hour. Again, on average.

Zero chance a college athlete would blow a 0.08 after 2-3 beers.

Wrong. Don’t know where you got 0.02 for every beer, that’s impossible to determine because it stays in your system while you’re drinking your next drink. It’s about time, weight, and amount drank for the most part. 3 beers in an hour would put a 200 pound man (Etienne) right around 0.08. If he ate a lot before, possibly 4. But 0.08 is not “drunk.” It’s just over the limit. And he blew below that at 4:35 am. Hence, he likely chose to “sober up” unless he decided to randomly pound 3 or 4 at 3:30 or 6 between 2:30 and 4:30. Unlikely.

A lot of people assume 0.08 means you’re wasted. These people are idiots and should breathalyze themselves for fun. He probably didn’t feel a damn thing and thought he was good. Someone with a higher tolerance wouldn’t even feel it at 0.08. (High tolerance doesn’t mean lower BAC, it means you can handle higher BAC’s).

He’s a 19 year old college student who, 18 months from now would be commended for not driving home a few hours before. But he’s being ragged on here. Only thing he did wrong was drink under age which is what every single person on this board did in college. Dumb.
