Wasn’t bashing the kid, just indicated taking a big bag isn’t always the best choice. Team loyalty with a smaller bag isn’t definitively a subpar choice, as you surmise.
Can’t fault the kid, but sometimes loyalty pays off over greed. In this case, it likely would have. I’m sure he’s not all that shook up about it.
