Are you actually going to argue that Holman wouldn’t have added at least a couple wins to Bama’s record this year? Seems pretty odd to say adding a pitcher who has proven over 2 seasons that he is better than all the ones on Bama’s roster “isn’t a known quantity.”


He could've been injured, he could've regressed, anything is possible.

Really the only argument for him staying is the thought that Alabama may have been better with him but he really made the right decision for himself and his career.

Not sure making up hypotheticals that didn’t actually happen this season helps your “not known quantity” argument. He could have won the lottery, committed a felony, been hit by an asteroid, etc.

None of that takes away from the fact that Bama would have won more games with him on the team given the season he had last year and this year, barring a hypothetical that didn’t happen.
