Hannagrif said on the radio that MM has been turning down these resources as much as possible. He seems to be trying to use old tactics for recruiting and he'll fall behind if he doesn't embrace help and fundraising. He'll get it eventually.

If true, we won’t win anything with this dude.

We should definitely wait for him to figure it out instead of hiring someone that knows what they are doing.

I don't know if that is true or not. But if it is you may as well cut bait now.

Recruiting and roster building at the major conf. level is a cutthroat business. You better be willing to bend rules, toe right up to the line of "ethical", and deal with shady "agents", "runners", "uncles" who ALL have their hands out for payments...because that is the landscape of big time recruiting. If you don't want to engage in that it is completely ok. I understand why many coaches wouldn't. But that is what it takes to be successful in the SEC.

As far as resources go, it's not as if big time players didn't have their hands out before NIL became legal. Big time money was still being exchanged. It just wasn't out in the open. And I promise you Wade wasn't personally bankrolling the whole operation. He had boosters willing to pay. Those boosters didn't just suddenly disappear. They'll pay.

Trent Johnson didn't want to get into the dirty underbelly of major conf. recruiting. Again, that's ok. But his dismal record at LSU after Brady's core left showed you the result of not getting in the recruiting mix. So if McMahon doesn't have the appetite to get into the mud of roster building then he is better suited for a mid-major job because the bloody recruiting battles aren't going away.

How much further can he possibly fall behind?

Hold on! Is Hanny saying MM is purposely turning down NIL money for better talent and/or transfers?

You can’t be serious.

What old tactics is he using if he’s turning down legit resources?

This ridiculous false narrative that a head coach would turn down money for the program has been going around the last few days and has been debunked by an actual booster that posts here. Seems like a stupid rumor put out by Will Wade lovers
