Any more than 12 will simply water down the playoffs to a point where making the first round won't be much more of an accomplishment than winning 6 games to become bowl eligible. They're trying to make it like Texas high school football where in far west Texas there are districts with only 4-5 teams...meaning all of them go to the playoffs even if a couple have losing records, or don't win a single game. I mean sure the good team that has to play one of those has an easier path, but what if you lose a star player to injury playing a team that shouldn't be in the playoffs in the first place?

I know it's about money and not who truly deserves to be in, but in my opinion 12 is already 4 too many teams.

12 is already watered down… for every 2023 Georgia who would have been a quality playoff team, there will be a couple like 2021 Cincinnati who has absolutely no business in the playoffs.

8 conferences, the CCG is the first round. Seed the champs, no byes. There’s your 16 game playoff.

Piss on ND.
